  • January 27th(Sat.) – February 25th(Sun.)
  • Opening reception: January 27th(Sat.) 5-7pm
  • Open hours: every Saturdays and Sundays 12-6pm

Contemporary poet Naha Kanie and painter Akane Nakajima have been working on their respective genres of “poetry” and “painting” as their primary medium, but in recent years they also have been participating in video work and performance etc..

In this exhibition, Naha and Nakajima will try to display “preparation process itself of the two artists’ collaboration”: places, atmosphere and time itself in which “poetry” and “painting” interact each other.

The collaboration of Naha Kanie’s poetry and Akane Nakajima’s book-cover painting is found on Kanye’s poetry collections such as “Yōisareta Shokutaku (The Laid Table)” (2015, awarded the Nakahara Chūya Prize 2016), “Uma Hiku Otoko(The Man Pulling Horse)” (2016), and “IC”(2017).
This time, they will explore the form of a new collaboration of painting and poetry in the form of exhibition, not the format of the poet collections for the first time by the two artists.

Draw a line, far be as close as possible through the movement to paint the color, we also want to arrive with thought and feeling to not part of independent, we move the hand hoping to those completed.” (Akane Nakajima)
