Open Letter では2度目となる長田奈緒さんの個展を開催します。
（前回の個展『遠ざかった同じもの』はこちら）

長田さんは、「見えているもの / こと、その在り方」をテーマに、手書きのメモや凡庸的な洋服、テッシュなどの日用品といったアノニマスなモチーフを撮影し、その写真をシルクスクリーンによって様々な支持体に転写、それらを映像なども組み合わせながらインスタレーションを構築してきました。

本展では、2016年のEnd of Summerプログラムでのアーティスト・イン・レジデンスを経て、さらに表現の広がりを見せる新作群を発表します。

*本展のタイトル『息を呑むほどしばらく』は、長田さんがインスピレーションを受けた詩集『馬引く男』（カニエ・ナハ 著、2016）からの引用となります。

経歴

• 1988 年生まれ。
• 2016 年東京芸術大学大学院美術研究科修士課程修了。
• 2013 年から 2014 年まで、ウィーン応用芸術大学に交換留学生として在籍。

Open Letter is pleased to announce the new exhibition “Breathtaking, for a while” by Osada Nao. 
(Osada’s first solo exhibition at the gallery was “The same things are invisibly distant.“)

Osada’s creation comes from her theme “the substance and phenomenon we see, and how there is”. To explore the theme, Osada applies what people usually see in everyday life. The motifs seen in her artworks are anonymous things such as handwritten notes, mediocre clothes, and household goods such as tissue paper. Osada uses silkscreen and photograph to transcribe the images of those objects onto various materials, and installs them according to space while combining them with other medium such as video works.

In this exhibition, Osada will present her new works that show a wider range of expression to explore her theme, which Osada has evolved in the past few years.

* The title of this exhibition is a quotation from a poetry collection “Uma Hiku Otoko“(Naha Kanie, 2016)  that Osada got inspiration from.
